Where We’ve Been: Our Community in Action
Our FemInEM community continues to make an impact everywhere. Check out some of our latest appearances:
Dr. Kimi Chernoby marked the anniversary of the Dobbs decision through continued advocacy and education, co-leading a Planned Parenthood Lunch and Learn for students on the medical and legal realities of abortion and the impact of abortion bans, and participating in an advocacy roundtable hosted by Virginians for Reproductive Freedom (VRF) in partnership with the Committee to Protect Health Care. The roundtable brought together advocates, healthcare workers, and patients to discuss efforts to enshrine reproductive rights in the Virginia state constitution, advocating for protections for prenatal care, abortion access, contraception, and fertility treatments.
National Grand Rounds: FemInEM is continuing to expand our reproductive grand rounds program nationally, empowering emergency providers with the education needed to treat early pregnancy emergencies with the standard of care. Drs. Dara Kass and Kimi Chernoby recently lectured at two sites in Illinois, reflecting our commitment to educating providers even in progressive states.
Dr. Priya Ghelani gave the final lecture of our Texas work, reaching nearly 1,700 physicians in the state. We are so proud of the impact of this project and everyone who contributed to it.

Applications are now open for the next cohort of FemInEM’s Champions of Change! We’re calling on medical students ready to step up, speak out, and lead the fight for better reproductive healthcare.
Through targeted training, participants will sharpen advocacy, leadership, and policy skills while diving into:
Two clinical modules: Early pregnancy loss and mifepristone/misoprostol
Four changemaking modules: Driving change through advocacy, policy, and education
Phase 2: Opportunities to join ongoing FemInEM projects

New Opportunity: Our partner, Access Bridge, is recruiting for two new opportunities for clinicians looking to expand reproductive care from the ED.
Opportunity 1: The National Fellowship: Our marquee fellowship supporting clinicians to expand reproductive care from the ED. As one graduate put it: “The experience is invaluable: knowledge acquisition, networking, change-making. It is the real deal.” Help us recruit the next class of champions.
Opportunity 2: Residency Project with CIR: We’re glad to share this new partnership with the Committee for Interns and Residents. Priority given to CIR members, though non-members in regions with critical reproductive care shortages may be considered.
