Hi Everyone,
Here is a quick look at what is new at FemInEM:
Where We’ve Been: Our Community in Action
Our FemInEM community has been busier than ever, making an impact across the country and beyond. Here’s a look at where we’ve shown up lately:
Dr. Dara Kass traveled to Roanoke to deliver grand rounds, bringing timely education on early pregnancy care directly to providers in the field. Her session continued our work to meet physicians where they are, equipping them with the clarity and confidence to deliver high-quality reproductive care.
Dr. Kimi Chernoby delivered the first lecture of our Alabama Project on March 19, marking an important milestone in our commitment to expanding reproductive health education in restrictive states. Her session equipped emergency physicians with the tools and confidence to deliver timely, evidence-based care for patients experiencing early pregnancy complications.
Dr. Priya Ghelani is continuing to expand her footprint in Texas, building on the successful completion of the project’s first phase. Her work to equip emergency providers with the tools to deliver high-quality reproductive care is now reaching rural and critical access sites, the communities where this education is needed most.
Dr. Rebecca Hellmann traveled to Chicago to deliver grand rounds at Rush University Medical Center and Loyola University Medical Center. Continuing our work to expand mifepristone access for miscarriage management and medical abortion in Illinois.
Dr. Chernoby also joined the Healthcare Leaders Collaborative organized by the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation. This all-day meeting examined sources of moral injury in healthcare and the ways that we can solve these issues to protect healthcare worker wellbeing. She also attended the All In: Wellbeing First for Healthcare in-person coalition where the coalition strategized what the next five years of protecting healthcare worker wellbeing looks like.

I found myself envying the environmental services staff. They were shift workers too, but t…
Finding My Home in Emergency Medicine
I have wanted to become an Emergency Medicine physician for a long time, though I have also long harbored an interest in women’s health.
